CPSC SESSION SHOWS WORK NEEDED ON TEST/CERT CONSENSUS
CPSC’s November 9 public meeting on CPSIA Section 102 testing and certification revealed possible disagreement and confusion among commissioners and staff about how the agency can and should handle the section.

CPSIA DATABASE GOAL IS CLEAR BUT ROUTE IS NOT
There was consensus among stakeholders at a CPSC November 10 public meeting that the in-the-works consumer complaint database authorized by the CPSIA needs to be accurate, but consensus grew weak on the question of what steps are needed for such accuracy.

CPSC FINDS QUESTIONS ABOUT GFCI TESTING KNOWLEDGE
More than one in five (21%) of the 343 respondents to CPSC’s October online survey said that they have ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) that are blocked in a way that they would be unlikely to see the small indicator light.
