Do not expect CPSC to prescribe the format for CPSIA tracking labels any time soon.

BIKES LIKELY TO GET STAY OF CPSIA LEAD ENFORCEMENT
CPSC members voted 2-0 May 11 to deny a petition from the bicycle industry for exclusion from CPSIA lead limits, but they directed staff to draft a one-year enforcement stay.

CPSC STAFF URGES OBJECTION TO ASTM TOY CHEST REVISION
CPSC members should vote to object to a proposed changes related to toy chests in ASTM’s F963 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety, staff urged May 11.

CPSC ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR NEW AND MODERN TEST FACILITY
CPSC announced May 13 that it will construct a new and modernized testing facility in Rockville, Md. and will close its existing testing facility in Gaithersburg, Md.
