CPSC LISTS SUBSTANCES EXCEPTED FROM CPSIA LEAD LIMITS
Commission votes are due January 5 on a CPSC staff proposal to deem certain naturally occurring materials, metals and their alloys to not exceed inherently the lead limits in section 101(a) of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).

CPSC CONSIDERS LEAD LIMIT EXCLUSION PROCESS
Commission votes are due January 5 on a CPSC staff proposal for the technical information that the agency might need to exclude products or materials from section 101(a) and (b) of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).

CPSC WOULD USE SHARPS PROBES FOR LEAD
The probes already used for sharp points and for sharp metal and glass edges would be used for the CPSIA accessibility provisions related to lead components in children’s products and certain electrical devices, according to a December 23 CPSC staff briefing package.

EU GOT 140 RAPEX NOTICES IN NOVEMBER
The EU in November received 140 RAPEX notifications, bringing annual total through that month to 1,705.
