HR 4040 HELD UP BY GAS BILL; CONSUMER GROUPS URGE ACTION
Resolution and passage of HR 4040, the CPSC reauthorization measure, could be delayed until September due to an ultimatum by Senate Republicans that legislators focus on gasoline prices before addressing other issues.

CANADA WARNS OF BUNK BED RISKS
Health Canada July 23 warned that since 1987 it has received reports of 61 incidents associated with bunk beds.

NANO NEEDS NEW LAWS, GROUP SAYS
The Project for Emerging Nanotechnology July 23 said that U.S. laws, including the Consumer Product Safety Act, need “radical revision” to deal with nanotechnology.
