CPSC DATA SHOW 22 TOY DEATHS IN 2006 There were 22 toy related deaths among children under age 15 in calendar 2006, according to a December report from CPSC.
CPSC TARGETS RISKS TO BABIES FROM AIR MATTRESSES CPSC December 18 warned against placing babies on air mattresses to sleep, noting that such products will see much use by houseguests during the holiday season.

RAPEX REPORTS ARE 57% ABOVE LAST YEAR’S NUMBER The EU handled 167 RAPEX notifications in November, bringing the 2007 tally up to 1,485. That number represents a 57% increase over the reports received over the same period in 2006.
EU RISK ASSESSMENT GUIDE FOCUSES ON PRODUCT REVIEWS A draft EU risk assessment guideline made available December 14 from DG Sanco would direct companies with potentially hazardous products to consider question such as whether the risks are cumulative and how the products fall within the limits of laws or standards.
