HOUSE SENDS CPSC-RELATED BILLS TO SENATE
The House of Representatives October 9 passed four bills related to CPSC, all by voice vote.

NIST FINDS SPRINKLERS PASS COST/BENEFIT REVIEW
A report from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) concluded that multipurpose network residential fire sprinkler systems provide net value in cost/benefit analyses.

CPSC GIVES MORE SAW-GUARD CONCERNS TO UL
CPSC is seeking comment by October 16 on draft comments to Underwriters Laboratories on UL 987, Standard for Stationary and Fixed Electric Tools, related to table saw blade guards.

CPSC HIT RECORDS IN 2007 FOR RECALLS AND SECTION 15s
CPSC handled 472 recalls and received 568 Section 15 reports in fiscal 2007, according to data supplied to PSL by the Compliance Office.

CONNECTICUT RECALLS TOY ROBOT FOR LEAD PAINT
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection October 9 said it is recalling Galt Toys’ Mini Wooden Robot X7 units due to paint with high lead content.
