The new Advance Product Safety Management Certificate course being offered by Saint Louis University has raised quite a stir in the product safety field. This will be the first of its kind advance education offered in the product safety field by a leading business school in the country. The University’s John Cook School of Business has much to glow about these days:

  • The general certificate in product safety management course introduced in 2009 at an international product safety assembly is now recognized world-wide as a leading credential in the product safety field.

  • Saint Louis University is now recognized as an important prominent educational institution active in the product safety world, as shown by its recent hosting of the annual ICPHSO/CPSC regional product safety workshop in St. Louis on August 13.

  • Graduates of the University’s product safety programs are spread among nearly every sector in the consumer product field, and represent global brands that help lead the way in product safety process.

  • Our instructors are recognized as key thought leaders in the product safety field.

Who could have foreseen this 4 years ago, when an observer who co-founded a successful children’s products company raised a pivotal question during a brainstorming session: “how do product safety managers become product safety managers?” In researching this question, education developer ADK Information Services ultimately ended up in alliance with Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business and its Center for Supply Chain Management Studies. The goal of university-level product safety management education has blossomed beyond anyone’s expectations.

Who wouldn’t be proud of a testimonial like this from Mary Skiba of Microsoft: “This class was timely, relevant and comprehensive, and I fully expect I’ll be referring back to my notes and class materials for years to come. Additionally, I’m recommending this course to my colleagues as I feel it is one that all those tasked with product safety responsibilities would greatly benefit from.”

Or this testimonial from graduate Tim Saylor of Swimways Corporation: “Thank you all for such a fantastic program! Being someone who has truly worked from the bottom up throughout my 13 years in this field, it was engaging, concise, informative, entertaining and provided tools that I will use throughout my career.”

September, 2012 will be another benchmark for the field of product safety management education when a group of Advance students gather in St. Louis from September 24-28 for the launching of a new course, the first of its kind. Let’s wish these pioneers in product safety management education well in their new endeavor!
