CPSC Lauds Generator Technology as Protecting Against CO


CPSC September 14 said its recent study reveals that readily available technology can reduce carbon monoxide (CO) emissions by 90% or more on certain portable generators. According to its estimates, generators are responsible for the largest number of “non-fire” CO deaths associated with consumer products. From 1999-2011, more than 750 CO deaths involving generators were reported, with at least 73 in 2011 alone.
