NHTSA Study Finds Backseat Warning Alarms Unreliable


A July 30 study from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that public education, rather than warning systems technology, is the more effective solution to prevent children from being left behind in motor vehicles. According to the NHTSA report, nearly half of all fatalities associated with children left in vehicles occur in scenarios that cannot be addressed by backseat warning systems.
