ASTM Discusses Stroller Ballot

CPSC staff and members of the ASTM F15.17 stroller subcommittee July 23 reviewed and debated 26 comments from the June 9 ballot on carriages and strollers. Negatives and affirmatives-with-comments regarding revision of F0833-2011, Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Carriages and Strollers, fell into five categories: wheel detachment, canopy, cord/straps, latches and brakes. While many comments were editorial in nature and generally deemed “non-persuasive” by the group, a few topics warranted lengthy discussion.
