Burlington Settlement Alleges Reporting Lapses & Selling Recalled Items
Burlington Coat Factory will pay $1.5 million to settle CPSC Section 15 reporting allegations, the agency announced July 26. The case involves 24 recalls and more than 157,000 units. In many of the associated corrective actions, the recalling company was not Burlington though it was a retailer. CPSC alleged that the reporting violations occurred in 2003 to 2010. The recalls were in 2007 to 2010, mostly in the last year.
