CPSC May Change Testing Rules for Animals


CPSC is set to launch a 75-day comment period on likely changes to its regulations related to animal testing. Changes would affect 16 CFR 1500, and the action also would codify the agency’s animal testing policy.

 

Changes would involve seven substantive areas as well as editorial changes. Four involve definitions of highly toxic; toxic; corrosive; and irritant, primary irritant, and eye irritant. Three involve testing rules related to toxic substances, primary irritant substances, and eye irritants.
